Abstract

The objective of this research seeks to describe and identify the role of ethics in preventing segregation of people with ankylosing spondylitis and contribute to the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal number three of Agenda 2030: "ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages". (UNDP,2024)

People with this condition are not considered in the group of individuals with disabilities, a situation that complicates the possibility of accessing better living conditions. The design of this research was based on a systematic review of the literature, since this type of methodology synthesizes the available evidence on the research question posed and this allowed to analyze the role of ethics in the hospital setting in order to propose mechanisms that allow people with this condition to have the possibility of accessing a state of well-being, from the position in which they find themselves.

Under this premise, it is concluded that people suffering from a chronic inflammatory disease such as ankylosing spondylitis are being excluded and deprived of this human right related to having a quality of life that ensures a fundamental condition for every person: health.
